In Khelo India Youth Games 2021 Haryana has reached first place in the medal tally by winning 16 gold, 11 silver and 18 bronze medals. Haryana’s sports persons so far won a total 45 medals.
Maharashtra has moved to second place with 11 gold, 9 silver and 9 bronze medals followed by Manipur who is at third place in the medal tally by winning 10 gold and 3 silver and one broze medals. Punjab is at fourth place with 5 gold, 4 sliver 4 bronze medals.
Our correspondent reports, today in a 120 minutes long semifinal of volleyball Haryana defeated Rajasthan . In the first set Haryana remain ahead with difference of 30-28 points, in scond set Rajasthan was ahead with 25-23 points, in the third set Haryana defeated rajasthan with 25-18 and in the fourth set with 25-23 points. In the weightlifting competition played at Government Girls College of sector 14 of Panchkula, Usha of Haryana by lifting 170 kilogram weight. In the same category Bani Makhya of Arunachal Pradeshwon silver by lifting 164 Kg weight and Sakshi Ranmaley won bronze by lifting 154 kilogram weight. In the football match played at Punjab University Chandigarh Haryana’s team defeated Mizoram by 3-2 goals. Similarly in another women’s competition Jharkhand defeated Tamilnadu by 6-0 goals.
Haryana girls were the first to make it to the final in the Kabaddi match today. In the first semi-final, Haryana girls did wonders by defeating Andhra Pradesh by 50-15 points in a one-sided match. The audience also left no stone unturned in their encouragement. The second semi-final will be between Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu. Similarly, in the Kabaddi Boys match, Uttar Pradesh beat Maharashtra by 41-37.
In the 61 kg weight category wrestling matches, Savita of Haryana defeated Vanshika Gosai of Uttarakhand by 10-0. Rekha Jat of Madhya Pradesh defeated Meenaben Patel of Gujarat by 10-2 while Nikita of Delhi defeated Khushi Thakur of Himachal Pradesh to advance to the next round. In Yoga competitions, Yoga players of Haryana won gold in the under-18 boy’s category of Artistic Group Yogasana. In the boys’ under-18 category, today the players of Haryana’s Yogasana team stood first with 120.99 points and beat Maharashtra’s team. Haryana’s Yogasana team includes Rohit Kumar, Sagar Rana, Jeetu, Gaurav, and Prabhat Kumar.
Maharashtra came second in this category and scored a total of 118.5 marks. Similarly, West Bengal secured the third position scoring 115.16 marks. Tamil Nadu stood fourth with 112.54 marks.
