Noted social activist and former ABSU leader Mantu Baro, and candidate of UPPL-BJP-GSP, Grand Alliance won the 22 No. Koklabari by-polls with a huge margin today.
Notable, among the four candidates, Mantu Boro received 32,571 votes, Second, on the list, Sankar Basumatary got 16,225 votes, Laba Kumar Basumatari got 736 votes, and Hiren Sarania got 1226 votes.
The bye poll took place on June 8.
It may be mentioned that the bye poll was necessitated in the Koklabari constituency following the exit of BTR CEM Pramod Boro who resigned as MCLA from the Koklabari constituency.
