This is how students in Assam are going to school amid Flood

Children in Rohita, a place in Assam Agriculture Minister Atul Bora’s constituency, Bokakhat, are living life perilously. Every day they are crossing streams with the help of just a couple of bamboos on their way to school and back. This is because the bridges which were to be built were never done. Locals have alleged that the people who took contracts to build the bridge connecting the Alami-Rohita-Bhalukaguri road, gobbled up more than half the sanctioned money and did not complete the bridge.

According to the villagers, Rs nine lakh was sanctioned for the bridge to be built on the Alami-Rohita-Bhalukaguri road. The contractor used Rs 3 lakhs and allegedly pocketed the remaining Rs 6 lakh.
