Two young women footballers from Assam’s Kokrajhar district Apurna Narzary and Maidangshree Narzary were felicitated and handed over cheques amounting Rs 50,000 each Director of Sports and Youth Welfare, Assam at a ceremonial programme held at Kokrajhar District Sports Association (KDSA).
Secretary Assam Football Association Hemendra Nath Brahma, Assistant secretary Dulal Dey handed over the cheques along with traditional Aronai. KDSA Adviser Maguram Balary, president of KDSA Kabiranjan Brahma were also present at the program.
Apurna Narzary and Maidangshree Narzary represented India in various national and international football tournament.
Apurna Narzary represented India in the recently held three-nation tournament in Sweden. She has also played in the U-19 (Women) South Asian Games football championship at Dhaka in Bangladesh and in Hero India League.
Maidangsri Narzary participated in the U-19 women India among other tournament.
