GUWAHATI: The Google Developers Group(GDG) Guwahati- inaugural & I/O extended event(first chapter) concluded on Saturday(16th July) in Guwahati. The event was organized at Hotel Atithi, Guwahati. As the event was a hybrid chapter, it was attended offline by around 50 people and a few more online.
The session had 3 speakers talking about various topics ranging from Angular 14 new features & uses, GCP MVP & Microservices to Artificial Intelligence in Autism.
Speaking to Guwahati Times, Organizer and Host, Ashvija Vijayendra said, “This is the first time that we are witnessing the GDG here in Guwahati which is open for anyone who is a tech enthusiast. We had attendees from various industries with different backgrounds. But all gathered with the same intention – Connect- Learn- Grow.”
“As Assam is booming with technology startups, we need more such pioneers to spark the conversations and bring together all the tech-savvy to build a stronger technology community,” she added.
As one of the speakers- Pranabjyoti Bordoloi said, “Guwahati is in need of a stronger tech community and with GDG here, we should be able to achieve that sooner than later.”
“GDG Guwahati is planning more events in the near future and one of them being DevFest which is one of the largest Developers Festival.

Notably, Google Developer Groups are local online or in-person meetups for developers to connect. This global community prides itself on being an inclusive environment.
