Guwahati: Members of the Indian Awaz Foundation donated flood relief aid to 60 families in Chenga and Barpeta area on Sunday.
Chenga in Barpeta is one of the worst affected area by flood in lower Assam, resulting in immense suffering and loss of the common masses.
Members and Volunteers of Indian Awaz Foundation carried out the humanitarian service through project ‘Aid for Assam’, and helped the flood victims with ration which includes rice, daal, oil, biscuits, soya beans, soap, sanitary pads and other necessary items.
Also, an awarness campaign on health and menstrual hygiene were also conducted by professional social workers.
Speaking to Guwahati Times, representative of Indian Awaz Foundation said “The situation of the affected families are so devastating and painful, no matter how much we do it seems very less and we the IAF family would request everyone to come forward and do as much as they can even if not through us but by themselves or any other means”.
“Indian Awaz foundation will work towards various initiatives to reach out to people of Assam under the project ‘Aid for Assam’ with the support of the donors who have always been supportive to our various initiatives”, he added.
The initiative was sponsored by ‘LUIT- The Assamese Society based in Pune and Pratha’, it was also supported by various organisations and collectively the relief aid was arranged under the project ‘Aid for Assam’.
It may be mentioned that, ‘Aid for Assam’ is a campaign by Indian Awaz Foundation, which is active since year 2021, they have been taking steps in order to help the people who are affected by Covid, flood and natural disaster.
