Kokrajhar gears up to celebrate ‘Ujjwal Bharat, Ujjwal Bhavishya’

The ministry of Power, New and Renewable Energy is organising events to celebrate the collaboration between the state and the Central Government and highlight the key achievements of the power sector under the umbrella of “Ujjwal Bharat, Ujjwal Bhavishya – Power @ 2047”.

Accordingly, APDCL, Kokrajhar Electrical Circle along with the district administration, Kokrajhar and POWERGRID is organising events to commemorate the occasion. The events were planned to be held on July 28, 2022 at Kathalguri Community Centre of Salakati and on July 29, 2022 at Kashibari, Dobgaon Playground and the grand finale celebration on July 30, 2022, wherein the Prime Minister of India will interact with the beneficiaries of Harinaguri Pt.- II of Panbari, the village selected from Assam for the interaction.
In Kokrajhar district, 402 villages/ habitations have been electrified under Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY) new scheme. Under this scheme, 302 transformers have been installed, 11 KV line of 165.496 KM and Low Tension (LT) line of 767.277 KM have been constructed and 14075 households (ON GRID and OFF GRID) have been benefited.

And in the SAUBHAGYA Scheme, 1068 villages/habitations have been electrified. Under this scheme, 380 transformers have been installed, 11 KV line of 260.289 KM and LT line of 897.70 KM have been constructed and 45512 households (ON GRID and OFF GRID) have been benefited in Kokrajhar district. Kokrajhar district is all geared up for the celebration of “Ujjwal Bharat Ujjwal Bhavishya– Power @ 2047”. In this regard, two rounds of discussions chaired by deputy commissioner, Kokrajhar, Varnali Deka have been held with the officers of APDCL, Kokrajhar and POWERGRID. On Friday, Samarjit Chakraborty, executive director (O&M), NEEPCO, CPSU nominated State Nodal Officer, Assam for Ujjwal Bharat Ujjwal Bhavishya and Akan Sarma, GM (RE), APDCL visited Kokrajhar wherein preparedness and progress of the concerned department for ensuing the programmes were discussed.
