A surprise musical show titled “Ki Sur Na Pubon” (message from the cave) was organized inside the well-known Arwah cave at Sohra on Saturday. It is the first of its kind cave concert of the state.

The show was part of the ongoing Meghalaya Grassroots Music Project launched by the state government for artistes across the state.
“Ki Sur Na Pubon” featured young folk singers from Sohra including Sohra Sienmang, Leonard Syiemlieh and others who performed special songs that were in sync with the theme of the event.

“Ki Sur Na Pubon” is presented by Meghalaya Tourism and is being held in collaboration with Meghalaya Age Limited, Springboard Surprises and Clean Sohra Campaign.

One of the artistes said, ”Arwah Cave itself is home to very important archaeological findings like fossils. While we promote these places as tourism products we should also make concerted efforts to sensitize visitors about the importance of nurturing and protecting whatever they come across during their travels in our state.”
