Deep Focus Student Short Film Festival concludes in Guwahati

Dream House Music & Film Academy organised Deep Focus Student Short Film Festival (DFSSFF) on July 30 and 31, 2022 in its own campus which was attended by a host of student filmmakers from various places across north-east and other parts of the country.

The two-day long festival was inaugurated by Neeta Sharma, director of Dream House Productionz in presence of many dignitaries at academy premises on Saturday. Speaking on the occasion Neeta Sharma said, “52 short films participated in the first edition of the DFSSF Festival, out of which top 20 were selected and another 10 films had special screening.”

Assamese film maker Khanjan Kishore Nath’s national award winning Karbi short film ‘Kachichinithu’ was showcased as the inaugural film during the festival and the director himself graced the screening. The jury comprised of Bitopan Borborah, an internationally acclaimed film critic and jury member in various film festivals such as, Cannes, Moscow, Busan and Cairo Film festival along with Karim Khatri, renowned cinematographer from Bollywood who worked as DOP in films like Border and LOC, director Raj Mukherje from Kolkata and faculties from academy Tuly Roy, Rana Santosh Kamal and Gautam Chakraborty. Awards were given to ‘Best Film’ and other categories like ‘Best Actor and Actress’, ‘Best Editor’, ‘Best Cinematographer’, ‘Best Sound Design’, etc.
