The Assam Government on Monday informed that the daily wage of Tea Garden workers has been hiked by Rs.27/- from 1st August onwards. The information was shared through a notification issued by the Principal Secretary of, the Labour Welfare Department, GOA.
Notably, the daily wage has been increased from Rs. 205 to Rs.232 per day.
“In a much relief to Tea Plantation Workers, Govt of Assam has decided to enhance the minimum wages by ₹ 27 w.e.f. 1st August 2022. Thankful to Hon’ble CM Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma for his commitment to the welfare of tea garden workers,” BTC CEM Pramod Boro posted on FB.
