A paddy procurement centre under the Food Corporation of India (FCI) was inaugurated in the Tangla area of Udalguri district on Saturday. The centre was inaugurated by Bodoland Territorial Council(BTC) CEM Pramod Boro.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by EM Wilson Hasda, MCLA Dilip Kr Boro and other officers and employees of the Agriculture department.
“Glad to inaugurate Juguripara Paddy Procurement Centre, set up under AFCSCL, Govt of Assam, at Tangla, Udalguri district today.
EM Wilson Hasda, MCLA Dilip Kr Boro were also present,” the CEM posted on Facebook.
The centre shall aid farmers in getting a deserving price for their produce & also boost their income.
“Happy to be present along with Hon’ble BTC CEM Shri Pramod Boro in the inauguration ceremony of Tangla, Juguripara, Paddy Procurement Centre(PPC) under Assam Food and Civil Supplies Corporation Limited.
Now, registered farmers of the locality can sell at MSP of Rs. 2040/- per quintal. This will help farmers get the actual prices for their crops,” EM Wilson Hasda posted on Facebook.
The EM urged the farmers to sell paddy at Rs. 2,040 per quintal at the minimum support price fixed by the Government. Hasda also urged all farmers to take advantage of this facility and contact the agricultural extension assistant/agricultural development officer in their respective areas as soon as possible.
