Xahid Khan is an Indian filmmaker widely recognized for his impactful short film, “Alert – Condition: Red.” Born in 1991 in a small village in Assam, North East India, Khan pursued a Diploma in Filmmaking from Mumbai and holds a Diploma in Mass Communication & Journalism. His filmmaking journey began with his first Hindi film, “Sand-The Love without Trust”. Khan gained international acclaim with his second film, “Alert-Condition: Red,” which became a semi-finalist in the Academy Awards (OSCAR)-qualifying Best of India Short Film Festival in Los Angeles. This success led to numerous accolades, including Best Film and Best Director awards. His film “Mistake” also garnered recognition in multiple international, national, and regional film festivals, winning the Best Film award at the Emirates Short Film Festival ’19 in Dubai. Khan’s suspense drama, “Evening Gush,” was another festival favourite, receiving accolades for its storytelling prowess. Recognized as one of the North East’s influential figures, Xahid Khan was nominated for North East India’s Person of The Year in 2018. In 2019, he received the India Star Icon Award for his outstanding contributions to the world of cinema. In 15th August 2022 Khan awarded for making short on social issues by The Awaz Foundation. Currently, his short film “Pins & Needles” continues to captivate audiences at various film festivals. Additionally, his short film “Bakhsobondi Kotha” (Barraged) was released in 2022, further establishing Khan’s reputation as a talented filmmaker. “Guess the Pervert” marks his eighth film, while another short film titled “Unnamed” is currently in post-production.
