Shikhadry Mahanta, B Tech in Dairy Technology from National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal and daughter of Jagannath Mahanta and Dipali Mahanta of Fauzdaripatty Srawani Satra, Nagaon has been selected for College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Texas A & M University for her abroad internship under a programme called Agriculture and Natural Resources Policy. She will be representing her university at the Food and Agriculture organisation of the United Nations during her internship in the department of committee of world food security which develops policies to reduce world food hunger and meet the challenges in reducing food waste across the globe. Shikhadry Mahanta has researched on reducing post-harvest waste of cereals using plasma technology which is an advanced engineering technology being applied in the field of agriculture after doing bachelor degree from Texas A & M University, college station, Texas in 2020.
Earlier, she also went for internship at Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana as well as at Future Group, Mumbai. During her PhD course, she worked with US Wheat Marketing Centre at Portland, Oregon under US Wheat Association, stated a release.
