“Today , we the ex students of AEC raised some funds to help the poor Driver and Handyman of the Pick up van. The initiative was just started with a discussion in a Facebook group of AEC students at around 5.00 PM yesterday. We planned to collect whatever we can within 24 hours among Ex AECians only. Most of the ex AECians come forward and contribute towards the noble cause. Surprisingly within 24 hours around Rs 3,54,000.00 was collected . I am happy to inform you that this amount is even been handed over to the family members of the 3 injured persons.
Each member is handed over with Rs 20,000.00 in cash and 98,000.00 in cheque.
Hope this small effort of us will give some relief to the families.
Special thanks to Debarshi Baruah for taking the initiative,” Sanjib Modi, a ex-AECian posted on Facebook.
The plan started as a discussion between the ex-students in a Facebook group and quickly transformed into a tangible plan. And they collected a total of Rs. 3,54,000 within 24 hours. Later, the funds were handed over to the families of the injured. Each member recieved Rs.98,000 in cheque and Rs.20,000 in cash.
