World Environment Day was observed by Border Security Force, Guwahati Frontier Headquarters as well as under command Sectors and Battalions to protect our biodiversity, identify environmental problems and promote awareness. World Environment Days is celebrated every year on 5th June across the globe to mark the importance of nature and environment. This year World Environment Day-2023 is being observed under the “Mission lifestyle for environment (LiFE)” which is an initiative of Govt. of India for environment protection.
- In order to remind people about the importance of nature a series of events including Cycle Rally, Walkathon, awareness campaigns workshops cleanlinessdrives andConclave for youth, were organized at BSF Guwahati Frontier and its under command sector Headquarters and Battalions.
- On 5th June 2023, an awareness lecture on the subject was delivered by Shri Suhas Kadam, IFS, Director Assam Forest School, Guwahati, who emphasized upon Reduce – Reuse & Recycle of the materials which can harm our environment.
- Further under the guidance of Shri Dinesh Kumar Yadav, IPS, Inspector General Guwahati Frontier, officers, subordinate officers and bordermen of Guwahati Frontier, 1st BN National disaster Response Force (NDRF), Composite HospitalPatgaon, BSF Air wing Guwahati took the pledge of “Mission lifestyle for environment (LiFE).” While addressing the gathering hestated that “Mission lifestyle for environment (LiFE)” is an initiative of the Govt. of India for environment protection and emphasized upon the importance of environmental protection. He also stated that every person should try to keep the environment clean &green around him and should spread this spirit in his family and society as well.
- Apart from this, World Environment Day-2023 was also observed at under command sector headquarters, units and upto Border Out Post level. In which all the officers, subordinate officers and bordermenof the force participated enthusiastically. The Border Security Force is committed to safeguarding the national borders as well as protecting the environment.
