BTR EM Wilson Hasda visits Sido Kanhu Murmu University in Jharkhand

Bodoland Territorial Region(BTR) EM Wilson Hasda as part of CEM’s Delegation team visited the Sido Kanhu Murmu University, Dumka, Jharkhand, on Tuesday(June 6) to understand the present status of Santali language & literature, as well as the progress in the implementation of the NEP in Jharkhand.

The delegation team included Vice-President, Bodo Sahitya Sabha, Prasanta Boro; Registrar, Bodoland University, Dr. Subung Basumatary; AGS, Bodo Sahitya Sabha, Dr. Pranab Jyoti Narzary; and Associate Professor, Bodoland University, Dr. Jhanin Mushahary.

“Honoured to meet Prof. Sonajharia Minz at the Sido Kanhu Murmu University, Dumka, Jharkhand as part of CEM’s Delegation of BTR comprising of Academician and Sahitya Sabha Leaders.

The visit was meant to understand the present status of Santali language & literature, as well as the progress in the implementation of the NEP in Jharkhand. Also, to know their academic and scholarly activities at the Santal Academy.
Had a meaningful discussion where we delved deeper to understand how we can work for the upliftment of the tribals. And, also to get them together on a platform where they can learn about their rights and social assimilation.

Moreover, the Assam Cabinet under the chairmanship of chief minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma earlier this month decided to recognize the OL CIKI script for the Santali language in Assam.
