Guwahati: In a shocking incident, students of Kamaba Primary School in Margherita, Assam were seen carrying sandal in their hands while going to school as the roads were damaged and filled with water due to heavy rainfall in the area.
Locals have been complaining about the bad condition of the road to the local authorities. But, despite the complaints no action was taken to repair the road, leading to the current issues.
“At the times when they should have carried books in their hands, they are carrying sandals, struggling their way to school. The local residents have appealed to the panchayat and government authorities, but no developmental works have been done to date,” said a teacher.
Notably, in 2017 and 2022 the Kamaba Primary School received A+ grades in Gunotsav, still, the students and teachers have to struggle to reach their school due to the negligence of the government authorities.
