November 11, 2023; Guwahati: Modern English School Kahilipara successfully organized its 10th Inter-School Drama Competition, with the theme ‘ Co-Existence’ showcasing the immense talent and creativity of young participants from various city schools. The event, held on November 11, 2023, at Pragjyoti ITA Centre for Performing Arts at Machkhowa, featured captivating performances that left the audience spellbound. Nine schools participated in the competition, namely Shemford Futuristic School, Green Valley Public School, Maria’s Public School, Army Public School, Assam Jatiya Bidyalay, Pub Guwahati High School, Notun Fatasil Town High School, Modern English School, and Kaziranga English Academy.
The event was graced by several eminent dignitaries, including renowned Film and Theatre personalities like Chetana Das, Actor (Guest of Honour), Bhranti Medhi, Actor (Chief Guest), Vidyasagar, The Chairman, Jyoti Chitroban (Guest), Bijit Debchaudhury, Actor, Kishor Rajbongshi, Actor and Pranami Bora, Actor (Judges).
The competition aimed to provide a platform for students to express themselves through the art of drama, fostering creativity, teamwork, and self-expression. Participants from different age groups brought forth a diverse range of stories and themes, showcasing their theatrical skills and passion for the dramatic arts.
After rigorous evaluation by a panel of esteemed judges, the results of the competition are as follows:
- Best Drama Team: Modern English School (Aranyat Rajsabha),
- 1st Runners-up Team: Assam Jatiya Bidyalay (Aji Mur Janmadin),
- 2nd Runners-up Team: Army Public School (Akhir Kar Bablu Pass Ho Gaya),
- Best Actor Male: Gunjangeet Prasor, Assam Jatiya Bidyalay
- Best Actor Female: Anuksha Saikia, Maria’s Public School
Additionally, special awards for other individual performances:
- Best Supporting Actor, Male: Alex Godwin Narzery, Kaziranga English Academy
- Best Supporting Actor, Female: Digangana Madhukulya, Modern English School
- Best Director: Rajiv Kro (Modern English School, Drama – Arayanat Rajsabha)
- Best Scriptwriter: Ashim Krishna Barua (Assam Jatiya Bidyalay, Drama – Aaji Mur Janmadin)
- Best Comic Actor: Abhigyan Basumatary (Modern English School)

Mrs. Jonali Das, Principal of Modern English School, Kahilipara, expressed her delight at the high level of talent displayed during the competition.
