Guwahati, March 15, 2024: The Lions and Leo Club of Guwahati South recently organized a two-day fundraising cricket tournament at South Point School in Guwahati, drawing the attention of sports enthusiasts and philanthropists alike. With 16 teams competing day and night, the event aimed to serve the society in numerous ways, aligning with the club’s mission for the betterment of all.
The tournament, which took place at South Point School, witnessed a grand inauguration ceremony led by VDG II Lion Pankaj Poddar of Lions District 322G. The venue buzzed with excitement as numerous sponsoring enterprises, local businesses, entrepreneurs, and companies lent their support to the cause.
After intense matches and displays of exceptional sportsmanship, Bidur XI emerged as the victorious team, clinching the championship title. Their outstanding performance earned them a cash prize of 30,000 rupees, along with a trophy, medals, and certificates. Meanwhile, Jeetu XI showcased formidable skills throughout the tournament, securing the runners-up position. They were awarded a cash prize of 10,000 rupees, in addition to medals and certificates commemorating their achievement.
