Japanese Encephalitis Claims Life in Morigaon

Morigaon district is facing a serious health crisis with outbreaks of Japanese Encephalitis (JE), dengue, and malaria. A 7-year-old girl from the Gagalmari area of Mayang in Morigaon has died from JE while receiving treatment at a private hospital in Nagaon.

To date, ten individuals in Morigaon district have been diagnosed with Japanese Encephalitis. Six of these patients are recovering, while four, including two children, are receiving treatment at Guwahati Medical College. Additionally, the district has reported ten cases of dengue fever, with all affected individuals currently out of danger. Five residents have contracted malaria, according to district malaria officer Supriya Das.
