A minor girl was allegedly gang-raped in Dhing, Assam, sparking widespread outrage and protests in the area. The girl was found in a semi-conscious state near a pond, with her bicycle beside her. Locals who discovered her immediately informed the police, and she was rushed to the Dhing First Referral Unit (FRU) for medical treatment. Her condition is reported to be critical.
According to the locals who rescued her, the girl stated that she was attacked by three men while returning home from tuition.
Following the incident, the entire Dhing area observed a shutdown on Friday, with thousands of residents, including students and women, taking to the streets in protest, demanding swift justice for the victim.
