GUWAHATI: Willson Marandi, an enterprising young visionary from Kokrajhar, BTR, garnered significant recognition on Tuesday evening (August 5) at the TIA Awards 2024, held at The Hotel Palacio in Guwahati. Marandi’s innovative ventures, Smart BTR Private Limited and SIT International, were lauded with the titles of “Best Emerging Software Development Company” and “Excellence in Programming Languages Training in the BTR Region,” respectively.
Organized by The Indian Awaz Foundation, the TIA Awards 2024 brought together numerous industry luminaries and representatives who vied for accolades in diverse categories, including Author Awards and Business Awards. The event attracted businesses from across Northeast India, each showcasing their exceptional contributions to their respective fields.
In an interview with Guwahati Times, Marandi expressed his elation, stating, “I am profoundly honored to receive the Business Awards 2024 on behalf of Smart BTR Private Limited and SIT International under the categories of ‘Best Emerging Software Development Company’ and ‘Excellence in Programming Languages Training in the BTR Region.’ I extend my deepest gratitude to God for shaping my journey and to my mother for her unwavering support. My heartfelt thanks also go to the dedicated teams at Smart BTR and SIT International, whose relentless efforts and excellence made this achievement possible. Additionally, I am grateful to everyone who has stood by me throughout my entrepreneurial journey.”
Notably, Marandi attended the event adorned in a traditional Santali Panchi. When inquired about his attire, he explained, “While I could have opted for a sophisticated suit, I chose to wear our traditional Santali Panchi to inspire Santali youth to excel academically, engage in business, and promote our rich cultural heritage. The positive reception from numerous authors and businesspersons was heartwarming, but the moment of profound joy was when the award presenter, Pranay Bordoloi, Consulting Editor of NKTV, remarked, ‘This is the best.'”
Furthermore, it is noteworthy that Smart BTR Private Limited and SIT International are the first and only companies from the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) to be recognized at the TIA Awards, underscoring their pioneering role in the industry.
