KOKRAJHAR, SEPTEMBER 9: Wilson Hasda, BTC Executive Member for Urban Development, inaugurated a 10 KLD Faecal Sludge Treatment Plant (FSTP) utilizing MBBR technology in Kokrajhar today. This groundbreaking project marks the first of its kind in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) and aims to significantly improve urban sanitation.
The project is technically supported by the WASH section of UNICEF, with Green Tech providing construction assistance. The total cost of the FSTP amounts to Rs. 61 lakhs.
During his address at the inauguration, EM Hasda emphasized the importance of environmental sustainability in urban development. He remarked, “In this modern world, along with the ever-growing population, a good and congenial environment is a prerequisite. The BTC, under the visionary leadership of Pramod Boro, is committed to fostering a human-friendly environment by utilizing all available technology.”
The initiative represents a significant step toward improving public health and sanitation in the region, with technical guidance from UNICEF and construction expertise from Green Tech.
