Dibrugarh University Inter-College Badminton Tournament Flags Off at City College, Dhemaji

Dhemaji, October 8: A three-day Dibrugarh University Inter-College Badminton Tournament has been flagged off at City College, Dhemaji on Sunday. Deputy Commissioner of Dhemaji, Rahul Suresh Jabir officially flagged off the event. The President of the reception committee and the Professor of the college, Dr. Dilip Borgohain and the Assistant Professor of the Physical Education Department of Dibrugarh University, Pranjit Baruah hoisted the flags as a part of the inaugural ceremony of the event. Besides twenty-two supervisors from twenty-two colleges affiliated under the university hoisted a single flag each.

Some of the important personalities who attended the inaugural ceremony included

The Additional Superintendent of Police of Dhemaji District, Pranjal Bora,
Retired Staff of the Sports Board of Dibrugarh University, Bipul Chutia,
Coach of the Dibrugarh District Badminton, Nurul Akhtar Hussain,
Principal of the Dhemaji Commerce College, Dr. Kamala Kanta Bedi,
Assistant Secretary of All Assam Students’ Union, Deepak Sharma,and
Assistant Secretary of Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad, Bishnu Sharma.

The event was concluded after a cultural dance performance which was performed by the students of the institution.

Notably, The Dibrugarh University Sports Board was established in 1967 to look after the sports and cultural activities of the affiliated colleges. The board organizes inter-college sports and cultural meets, and sends teams to inter-university tournaments.
