Guwahati, January 11: Anuradha Roy, a talented young woman from Guwahati, is set to represent India at the Miss India World Wide pageant in New York in September 2025. Anuradha recently won the prestigious inaugural title of Miss India Poland 2024, along with the Miss Photogenic award, at a beauty pageant organized by the India Poland Women’s Federation and Razvi Events in Warsaw, Poland.
The 27-year-old emerged victorious from a pool of 400 contestants in the screening phase, advancing as one of the 16 finalists and ultimately claiming the crown. At a press conference held today at the Guwahati Press Club, Anuradha expressed her excitement about the upcoming global event.
Anuradha’s academic achievements are as impressive as her pageant accomplishments. She completed her secondary education at Khanapara Kendriya Vidyalaya and her higher secondary in Humanities at Army Public School, Narangi. She holds a Bachelor’s degree with Honors in Psychology from the University of Delhi and two Master’s degrees in Clinical Psychology and Criminology.
Her passion for dance and beauty pageants has been a lifelong journey. A trained Bharatanatyam dancer with a Visharad degree, Anuradha participated in various school and regional competitions, securing numerous accolades. She aims to bring Assam’s rich culture, tourism, and the iconic Mekhela Sador to the global stage.
“I deeply cherish Assam and its vibrant culture. It’s my dream to promote our traditions and tourism on an international platform. Whenever I can, I return to Assam to spend time with family and friends in this beautiful state,” Anuradha shared during her speech.
Currently residing in Poland, Anuradha received a scholarship from the Polish government in 2021 to pursue higher studies. She is working as a Senior Technical Recruiter and also practices as a psychologist.
Her journey from Guwahati to the global stage is a testament to her determination and talent, and she aspires to make Assam proud on the international platform.
