Assam: Do Not Get Misled By Himanta Biswa Sarma, Says Sherman Ali Ahmed After Winning Mandia
In his initial response, Sherman Ali Ahmed called for calm and focus within the Muslim community, urging people not to be swayed by what he described as the “intoxication of power” of Himanta Biswa Sarma.
He stressed the importance of education and perseverance, encouraging families to prioritise their children’s future. Ali said that regardless of political rhetoric, the community should remain committed to ensuring that the next generation aspires to become judges, deputy commissioners, superintendents of police, and engineers.
Looking ahead, he made a strong remark about changing times, suggesting that in the future, political power alone would not be enough to undermine a determined and educated community.
Taking a critical tone, Ali also accused Sarma of making provocative statements in the past. He referred to remarks allegedly made during election campaigns, including threats of eviction and comments about sending “Miya” people to Bangladesh.
The Mandia MLA concluded by urging introspection and self-improvement, calling on people to stay honest, avoid wrongdoing, and work hard. He added that he does not believe in making false promises, but instead wants the community to focus on building a stronger and more secure future through dedication and effort.
