Modern English School Hosts 2nd All Assam Inter-School Yogasana Championship 2025
Guwahati, 30 June 2025:Modern English School, Kahilipara, Guwahati, proudly hosted the 2nd All Assam Inter-School Yogasana Championship 2025, bringing together passionate young yoga practitioners from across the state. The event served as an inspiring platform for students to exhibit their skills, discipline, and dedication to the ancient Indian practice of yoga.
Organised under the banner of the Modern School of Languages, Sports, and Performing Arts, the championship embodied the values of health, mindfulness, and sportsmanship. Over 120 students from more than 20 schools across various districts of Assam participated in this vibrant celebration of yogic excellence.
The competition featured performances in the Traditional Yoga category and was assessed by a distinguished panel of judges, including eminent names from Yogasana Bharat and Universal Yoga Sports Federation:Suresh Poddar, Dipankar Nath, Suranjan Debnath, Prabin Das, Sourav Roy, Tapan Dey, Papri Das, Laxmi Bhut, Narayan Deka, and Sukhmoy Nath. Evaluation criteria included performance, stability, intensity, expressions, and overall presentation of Asanas.

Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Jonali Das, Principal of Modern English School, stated,”It is an honour to host this prestigious event. Yogasana not only nurtures physical fitness but also fosters mental strength, discipline, and resilience among our youth. Every participant today is a winner in their own right.”
Dr. Saiful Islam, Yoga Coach at Modern English School, added,”Yoga is a way of life. Through platforms like this, we aim to instill harmony, focus, and balance in young minds. It was truly inspiring to witness such grace and commitment on the mat.”
The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, where winners were felicitated with trophies and certificates. The championship marked a significant milestone in promoting yoga among the youth of Assam, encouraging a healthier, more mindful generation.
