The West Guwahati Deputy Commissioner of Police was suspended upon failing to meet his duty.
According to sources, IPS Bhanwar Lal Meena, DCP, West Guwahati had been given the responsibility of looking after the safety and security towards the recently appointed Chief Justice of India, Ranjan Gogoi during his visit to the Kamakhya Temple on 17th October.
However, even after getting informed about the CJI’s visit Meena was unsuccessful in providing security towards the CJI, for which CJI Ranjan Gogoi had to face trouble amid the huge number of devotees, who went to the temple at the same time that very day.
Today, as a punishment against failing to meet the assigned responsibility at work, the IPS officer was suspended from his post for indefinite time.
