Realme surprised its customers earlier this week by hiking the price of two of its smartphones, the Realme C1 and Realme 2. The CEO of the company, Madhav Seth, said that the price hike of these two phones are a direct result of the increasing value of the US Dollar against the Indian Rupee.
The Realme C1 that was launched in India at Rs 6,999, sees a hike of Rs 1,000, and it will now be available for Rs 7,999. The Realme 2, which was launched for Rs 8,990, now sees a hike of Rs 500. Following the hike, the 3GB RAM with 32GB storage variant is now priced at Rs 9,499, but the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage variant price remains at Rs 10,999.
But Realme CEO has now confirmed that the prices of the new Realme 2 Pro will not be affected by this price hike in a tweet. The Realme 2 Pro which was launched for a price of Rs 13,990 on Flipkart is still available for the same price.
