GUWAHATI: A sense of panic grips Dibrugarh in Eastern Assam after 7 members of the same family have been tested positive for COVID-19. It was first Ramesh Kedia who had tested positive for the novel Coronavirus subsequent to which 6 of his family members have also been detected as COVID positive.
Among those who have tested positive include Satish Kedia, Bhagwati Devi Kedia, Radhika Kedia, Jagdish Kedia, Sunita Kedia and Yuvraj kedia. It may be mentioned that Ramesh Kedia had come to Guwahati on June 6 to fix his daughter’s marriage and showed symptoms as he was suffering from fever on his way back to Dibrugarh. However, Ramesh Kedia was confirmed positive after his samples were tested at the Assam Medical College and Hospital.
However, the matter of grave concern is that few days back a party was held on the occasion of Radhika kedia’s marriage which was attended by close relatives of the Kedia family as well as close friends of Radhika. It is being suspected that the novel Coronavirus might have also spread to those who were present on the occasion.
