GUWAHATI: Kokrajhar MP Naba Kumar Sarania has appealed the State Election Commission not to postpone the BTC (Bodoland Territorial Council) elections. Addressing the mediapersons, he said that though due to COVID-19 the BTC election has been postponed and Governor’s rule has been imposed but people will have to co-exist with the virus. He demanded that the 6-month Governor’s rule should not be extended and the election should be held within the Governor’s rule.
In this regard, the Gana Suraksha Party submitted a memorandum to the State Election Commissioner appealing to defer the BTC polls.
