GUWAHATI: Attending the 1st anniversary celebrations of the historic Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) Accord in Kokrajhar, Assam health, finance and education minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma announced a goodwill package of Rs. 500 Crore for the development or road infrastructure in the BTR.
“I am happy to announce here that the state government yesterday approved a goodwill package of Rs. 500 crore for the development of roads in the BTR,” Dr. Sarma announced in his speech.
Dr. Sarma stated that a new campus of Bodoland University would soon come up in Udalguri district. The state government will also set up model colleges in Chirang and Baksa as promised in the run-up to recently-concluded Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) elections.
Minister Sarma reiterated the government’s commitment to implement all the clauses of the BTR Accord which was signed on January 27, 2020.
