In a major announcement, the Election Commission of India (ECI) ordered a fresh polls at four polling stations in Assam on April 20, 2021 from 7 am to 6 pm.
In a letter to the Chief Electoral Officer, Assam, ECI on Saturday declared that poll taken on April 1, 2021 at No. 149 Indira MV School (Right), 109 (463 No. Madhya Dhanehari LP School), 107A-Khothlir LP School, 107-Mualdam LP School to be ‘void’ and accordingly appoints fresh date for the polling.
The names of the Assembly constituencies where the fresh polls will be held are 1-Ratabari (SC), 10-Sonai and 16-Haflong (ST).
ECI also directed the CEO to ensure that wide publicity of fresh poll is given by beat of drums in the polling areas of these polling stations and political parties and contesting candidates be informed in writing.
