According to the India Today-My Axis India exit poll, 20% respondents want Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma as the chief minister of Assam. On the other hand, 19% want Sarbananda Sonowal as chief minister.
Around 16% respondents are in the favour of Congress leader and Lok Sabha MP Gaurav Gogoi as Assam chief minister, says the poll.
This exit poll predicted 75-85 seats for BJP and its allies.
On the other hand, the exit polls by Republic-CNX predicted 74-84 seats for the BJP-led alliance in Assam.
According to Republic-CNX, Congress-led grand alliance will get between 40 to 50.
Assam Assembly election was held in three phases on March 27, April 1 and April 6. The votes will be counted on May 2.
