Minister for Environment and Forest, Fisheries and Excise, Parimal Suklabaidya inaugurated the Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Secondary Block at Badarpur in Karimganj district on Saturday.
The Minister inaugurated the new Secondary Block of the VKV in the presence of Abdul Aziz, MLA Badarpur, Bijoy Garodia, Chairman BVCL, Prabin Dabolkar, All India Treasurer, VKV Kanyakumari, Mukesh Agarwal, President VKV, Badarpur, Vishwas Lopalkar, Prant Sangathak, VKV Bengal Part, Santosh Bajaj, Director BVCL, Bimolendu Roy, Saha Sanchalak and other dignitaries.
Speaking as chief guest in the inaugural function attended by VKV faculties and students, Suklabaidya acknowledged the contributions made by VKVs across the nation.
Suklabaidya said that the edifice of VKV organisation is based on Swami Vivekananda’s preachings of life-reforming principles.
“The school teachings are inspired by the Vivekananda’s philosophy of Man-Making and Nation Building,” he quipped.
The Minister said Swami Vivekananda laid the greatest emphasis on education for the ‘regeneration of our motherland’.
Advocating a man-making character-building education as the inner core of his education reform, Suklabaidya said Swamiji firmly believed that the ‘process of education should be such that it helps the students to manifest their innate knowledge and power’.
The Minister said that Swamiji believed that education must make the students self-reliant and help them face the challenges of life.
Later, Suklabaidya went round the new block, including the science laboratory and the exhibition stalls put up on the occasion. He exchanged pleasantries with the faculty members and students.
A colourful cultural pageant showcasing traditional dances was held on the occasion.
