Union Minister Renuka Singh visits Guwahati

Renuka Singh, Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs, Government of India visited Katakipara Van Dhan Vikas Kendra Cluster, Kamrup district on April, 2. Prime Minister Van Dhan Yojana (PMVDY) is the flagship program under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India. She was accompanied by Dr. Dinesh Kumar Jha, Kamlesh Tiwari, an Additional PS to MOS (TA), AD Mishra, Regional Manager, TRIFED, Bhabani Prasad Sharma, Director WPTBC, Dr. Lalit Sarma, Director IIE, Aswin Nangpui, APTDC MD Prasanta Goswami, Course Director PMVDY IIE and Dr. Bhaskar J Saud, PMVDY Project Head. This was the first visit of Renuka Singh, Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs to the PMVDY Kendra Assam. Renuka Singh visited the stalls where different TRISSAM products were displayed at the Kendra. Dr Lalit Sarma, Director welcomed the Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs at the center. She inaugurated 3 new TRISSAM products- Orthodox Tea, Black Rice Chira, Black Rice Bhujiya. Smt Renuka Singh spoke about this great initiative taken by PM Modi and how it has impacted positively through livelihood to many tribals in India. She interacted with the beneficiaries about the progress on the Kendra and the profits they have earned. Regional Manager, TRIFED, AD Mishra briefed about the progress made by the PMVDY Assam. MOS was felicitated with traditional Gamosa and TRISSAM Products.
