Assam BJP gears up for Lok Sabha Elections; Assam CM takes part in ‘Shankhnad’ programme

Guwahati ,Aug 28: BJP Assam Pradesh is gearing up it’s organisational activities in view of the forthcoming lok sabha election. Following the revision of the voters’ list by the Election Commission(ECI), the Bharatiya Janata party simultaneously has launched voter awareness campaign across the state. Meanwhile state level workshop is being organised at the party head office. In a press release issued by BJP Assam Pradesh, Spokespersons Rupam Goswami and Subhash Dutta said that the party has given much emphasis on the voter awareness campaign. For smooth conduct of matters pertaining to revised voters list of 126 assembly constituencies such as inclusion of new names, removal of deceased persons’ name and transfer of names, a workshop will be held in each Assembly constituency on August 29.
In the said workshop president of each Mandal, Shakti kendra pramukh, Booth president, booth level agent BLA 1 and MLAs will take part.
The spokespersons said that the party is focussed on winning all the 14 lok sabha seats. The party will appoint Vistarak in the 29 assembly constituencies falling under Koliabor(Kaziranga), Nagaon and Barpeta lok sabha constituencies where the party has no representatives. In the meantime under Lok Sabha Prabash Yojana senior leaders of the party have already geared up organisational matters in all lok sabha constituencies. They said in view of the upcoming lok sabha election a meeting of the social media and Information Technology cell (Shankhnad) was held at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Bhawan on Monday wherein an 11- member social media cell of each lok sabha constituency including district convenors and co-convenors of social media cell participated. The meeting was held in presence of Chief minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, State BJP president Bhabesh Kalita, Organisational General secretary Ravindra Raju and General secretary Pallab Lochan Das. The party leadership underscored the need to work with renewed zeal and vigour at the hustings.
The spokespersons also said that 6 MLAs from Assam have been campaigning in Madhya Pradesh, 11 MLAs in Chhattisgarh and 1 MLA in Mizoram assembly elections. They said with form conviction that under the leadership of Narendra Modi ji the Bharatiya Janata Party will once again form the NDA government in the coming Lok Sabha election at the Centre.
It may be mentioned that a Core Committee meeting of the state BJP will be today evening wherein CM Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma,Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, President of BJP Assam Pradesh Bhabesh Kalita and Organisational general secretary Ravindra Raju and other Committee members will be present.
