Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma revealed on Tuesday that the Assam government has recently released job advertisements for a multitude of positions within different state departments. These announcements include a total of 12,600 job openings for Grade III and IV roles.
In addition to this, the government has also advertised over 5,000 vacancies within the police department this month, and approximately 3,000 positions in the Health Department have been advertised. Himanta Biswa Sarma also disclosed plans to soon advertise more than 10,000 vacancies in the Education department.
He expressed the government’s unwavering commitment to providing a brighter future for the youth of the state through these employment opportunities.
Furthermore, Chief Minister Sarma previously announced the ambitious plan to construct 4,000 state-of-the-art schools by 2028. This initiative represents a significant effort to enhance educational infrastructure in Assam. The Chief Minister shared this information through a post on a social media platform, where he mentioned that Assam aims to build two new schools every day for the next five years, with the support of the Honorable Prime Minister.
A review meeting chaired by the Chief Minister brought together Education Minister Ranoj Pegu, registered contractors, and empanelled architects and engineers of the Public Works Department (PWD). The meeting focused on assessing the progress of constructing 126 new secondary schools in the state through the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) mode of contract.
Minister Pegu noted that the construction of these 4,000 schools will also follow the EPC mode of contract. These endeavors align with the government’s pledge to fulfill its election-time promise of providing government jobs to one lakh (100,000) young individuals in the state. The commitment to this endeavor was further underscored when Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma recently oversaw the ceremonial distribution of appointment letters to 62 Assistant Engineers (Civil) under the Water Resources Department of the Government of Assam. During the event, he reiterated the government’s relentless efforts in fulfilling this promise to the state’s youth.
