A week-long residential Entrepreneurship Skill Development Programme on “AI and Digital Transformation” was successfully conducted in Guwahati by EDII (Entrepreneurship Development Inst. of India) in association with the NEDM Group (the technical training partner for this program).
In a transformative week from December 11th to 15th, the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII)in association with North-East Digital Media Group (NEDM Group) organized an Entrepreneurship Skill Development Programme(ESDP) on “AI and Digital Transformation” under the ESDP scheme of MSME (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) of the Government of India at HRD Centre of Gauhati University.
This intensive program aimed to equip entrepreneurs and upcoming aspiring business leaders with the knowledge and skills to leverage AI and digital technologies for growth and success. The workshop featured theoretical and practical sessions, with renowned industry experts and academicians sharing their insights on cutting-edge AI applications, including large language models, machine learning, data analytics, workflow automation – RPA, and different AI tools.
Participants from diverse backgrounds and domains from around the northeastern states attended the five-day residential workshops and acquired knowledge of their specific business contexts. The program culminated in a grand closing ceremony graced by Professor Partha Pratim Boruah (Director, UGC HRDC, Guwahati University), Professor Dandadhar Sharma (In charge, MSME Livelihood Business Incubation & Aquaculture and Bio-Diversity Centre, Dept. of Zoology, Guwahati University), Shri Syed Mohsin Raja (Head of North East Digital Media Group) and Dr. Bhaskar Jyoti Saud, Asst. Professor (EDII). They lauded the initiative of EDII and MSME in empowering businesses with the necessary skills and knowledge to navigate the digital landscape.
Mr. Boruah emphasized the importance of AI and digital adoption for entrepreneurial success. He applauded the interactive sessions which facilitated knowledge sharing and skill development for the program participants. He has also assured continuous support and assistance in key workshops like the Faculty Development Programme and other Entrepreneurship Skill Development Programmes as well in the near future. Furthermore, Dr. Saud in his speech mentioned that this is the first one-of-a-kind training program on “AI & Digital Transformation” in the entire North East which has given a remarkable outcome in the digital domain. He also promised to come up with a more similar entrepreneurship programthat would facilitate the financial and social contribution of the society and its members.
This workshop served as a testament to the growing importance of AI and digital transformation in today’s dynamic business environment with participants expressing their appreciation for the insightful content, interactive sessions, and valuable networking opportunities. EDII and MSME are playing a vital role in empowering entrepreneurs to thrive in the digital age and contribute to India’s economic growth story.
