A comprehensive Anaemia TEST TREAT & TALK camp was organised today in various ICDS Projects of the Kamrup district of Assam. The camp aimed to identify and address anaemia among adolescent girls, providing essential awareness on its symptoms, consequences, care, and treatment. In addition to the health check-ups, the camp also focused on promoting menstrual hygiene by distributing sanitary napkins as part of the 100-day campaign by Sankalp – HEW, Kamrup Metro. This initiative aligns with the vision of “Suposhit Kishori, Sashakt Nari”, striving to create a healthier and more empowered future for our young girls.
The girl with the highest Hemoglobin (13) was felicitated by the dignitaries present with a sash stating “Miss Hemoglobin” and a nutritious food basket of locally available vegetable. A cycle rally was also organised during the event followed by a food mela on iron rich food items. The Anganwadi Workers demonstrated a puppet show on Anemia and its consequences. Doctors, Counselor from RBSK team, Medical Officer (Ayush), District Coordinator, PM POSHAN, ANM, Lab Technician, CDPO, Supervisors, Block POSHAN Staff, AWW were present during the event. The event ended with distribution of Sanitary napkins and IFA tablets to the participants.
