Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy addresses press conference at Kiranshree Grand

GUWAHATI,Sept 23: The Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Ministry of Steel, H D Kumaraswamy for his prompt response in the redressal of the issues faced by the tea gardens of the over 160-year-old Andrew Yule & Company which has encountered several challenges of late arising out of natural calamities that rendered it unable to compete in today’s dynamically competitive markets leading to several labour and employee related issues.
Immensely privileged to accompany the Union Minister as he addressed the press today in Kiranshree Grand hotel in Guwahati and assured all present that the Govt of India led by PM Adarniya Narendra Modi stands equally aligned with CM Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma dangoriya led Govt of Assam’s sturdy commitment preserving the over two centuries old tea industry that has served primary economic backbone of the state and protecting the rights of all employees and stakeholders.
The Minister also assured that steps are being taken to resolve all issues faced by the Andrew Yule & Company and revive the tea garden of the company in Assam
Also, aligned with the pace of investment inflow in Assam, it was a landmark moment as the Minister announced the setting up of the Bokajan Cement Factory by the Cement Corporation of India Ltd at an investment of around ₹700 crores, which further enhances the creation of employment opportunities for the youth of the state while adding to the revenue generation potential of the region.
It may be mentioned here that the minister was accompanied by Bimal Bora , Minister of Industries and Commerce.
