Guwahati, October 15: Byatikram MASDO hosted a heartfelt tribute ceremony at the NEDFI Auditorium, Dispur, to honor the life and legacy of the late Ratan Tata—renowned industrialist, visionary, and philanthropist. The gathering was attended by esteemed citizens, business leaders, social workers, students, and admirers who came together to celebrate the enduring impact of Tata’s life and work.
The speakers at the event reflected on the immense contributions of the business tycoon, emphasizing his unparalleled influence on the industrial landscape of India. His leadership of the Tata Group not only revolutionized key sectors but also demonstrated how businesses can operate with compassion and responsibility. His dedication to corporate ethics, social welfare, education, and healthcare was a recurring theme throughout the ceremony, with participants appreciating how his principles continue to inspire generations.
Dr. Saumen Bharatiya, President of Byatikram MASDO, delivered a moving speech, highlighting the multifaceted legacy of Ratan Tata. “Ratan Tata’s legacy is not just one of industrial prowess, but also of immense compassion and service to humanity. Dr. Jagannath Ambagudia, the Campus Director of Tata Institute of Social Sciences, was also present. He reflected on Ratan ji’s contribution to the education sector and saw him as a significant agent of economic as well as educational change globally.
The Tata Institute of Social Sciences was established in Mumbai in 1936, but it made its presence in Northeast India in 2008 and addressed some of the issues that affected its establishment in the region. A campus was established in Assam in 2010, with the main goal being to tackle the educational problems and needs of Northeast India.
