Bodoland Territorial Region(BTR) administration has intensified efforts to address land issues in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). On Friday, land settlement certificates were distributed to 1,886 beneficiaries under the “Mission Baisumuthi-1.0” initiative, held in Kajalgaon, Chirang.
BTR Chief Executive Member Pramod Boro officially presented the certificates to landless individuals from various ethnic groups within the Sidli, Bengtal, and Bijni Revenue Circles. This initiative, spearheaded by the BTC’s Land and Revenue Department, aims to resolve long-standing land issues in the area.
During the event, Boro highlighted the significant progress made in land settlements, noting that only 17,000 land pattas were issued during the tenure of the previous Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) administration. He asserted that over 200,000 beneficiaries from diverse backgrounds had received land solutions in the past three-and-a-half years under the Mission Baisumuthi initiative.
The distribution ceremony, held at the weekly market auditorium in Kajalgaon, attracted a large crowd of beneficiaries and featured notable attendees, including Rajya Sabha MP Rwngwra Narzary, BTR Executive Members Wilson Hasda and Ranjit Basumatary, Bijni MLA Ajoy Kumar Roy, and along with local party leaders. The event underscores UPPL’s commitment to resolving land-related grievances ahead of the by-election.
