As part of its ongoing efforts to promote the vibrant culture of sports and fitness in Manipur, the Indian Army is organising a Football Tournament at the Kwakta Football Ground in Bishnupur District, Manipur, from 19 to 31 January 2025.
The opening ceremony, held on 19 January 2025, was attended by senior Indian Army officials alongside prominent members of the local communities. The tournament will feature 16 men’s teams from Kwakta and its neighbouring areas, competing for the title. The competition will adopt a league cum knockout format, with league matches scheduled from 19 to 27 January 2025, followed by the Quarterfinals on 28 and 29 January, Semifinals on 30 January, and the Final on 31 January 2025.
This initiative aims to foster a sense of community, sportsmanship, and fitness among the youth and residents of Bishnupur District, showcasing the Indian Army’s commitment to promoting harmony and positive engagement among the youth.
