3 Children Killed Parents Critically Injured After Trailer Hits Family On Delhi-Ajmer Highway In Jaipur
GUWAHATI, JUL 7: A speeding trailer allegedly veered off the Delhi-Ajmer Highway and rammed into a family in Jaipur on Tuesday morning, killing three children and leaving their parents critically injured.
The accident took place between 8:45 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. near the 200 Feet Bypass on Ajmer Road, outside a hotel.
The trailer ploughed into a family of five—a husband, wife, and their three children—who were waiting near a bus stop.
The three children died on the spot. The mother suffered fractures in both her legs.
The trailer was travelling from Jaipur towards Ajmer when the driver allegedly lost control.
Amin Hasan, ACP, Traffic Police, Jaipur, said the family was waiting for public transport when the speeding trailer struck them.
“This incident occurred around 9 o’clock. A family, comprising a husband, wife, and their three children, was waiting for transport. In the meantime, this trailer ran them over.”
“Preliminary reports indicate that the three children have died, while the parents sustained serious injuries and have been hospitalised.”
Police rushed to the scene after receiving information and shifted the injured couple to a hospital for treatment.
The bodies of the three children were sent to the Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination.
The accident also led to a massive traffic jam on Ajmer Road.
Police said further investigation into the incident is underway.
