GUWAHATI: The Assam government has provincialised 355 educational institutes under the department of secondary education and 27 colleges under the ambit of the department of higher education in the first phase, said health, finance and education minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma at a press meet at state secretariat in Guwahati on Tuesday.
The first list of provincialisation includes 197 high schools, 9 higher secondary schools, 149 junior colleges under the department of secondary education and 27 colleges under the department of higher education.
“Total 3980 posts have been provincialised,” Dr. Sarma informed media persons. The list of the provincialisation will be available at the official websites of departments of senior secondary and higher education.
