Accenture official visits Sonaigaon and Erabari to review progress as traditional artisans transform into tech-savvy micro-entrepreneurs.
Mirza : on 08th March 2026 Ms. Keerthana Seshadri, Grant Strategy Analyst (CSR) from Accenture visited Sonaigaon & Erabari (Kamrup) the rural heartlands of Assam to review the transformative progress of the ‘Skill to Succeed’ project. Implemented by the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII) and fueled by Accenture’s global commitment to workforce development, the project has turned traditional artisans into tech-savvy micro-entrepreneurs.
The visit served as a high-level assessment of how corporate-backed social initiatives are effectively bridging the gap between rural talent and modern market demands.
The highlight of the visit was a vibrant showcase of cultural & traditional Karbi performances organized by the project beneficiaries. The Accenture official was greeted by a diverse display of products that blended traditional Assamese craftsmanship with contemporary commercial appeal.
From the intricate weaves of Cotton to Eri, the products on display represented a significant leap in quality and branding. The official engaged directly with the entrepreneurs, inquiring about their production cycles, supply chain challenges, and the digital tools they now use to reach customers beyond their villages.
The official was highly impressed by both the product quality and the entrepreneurs’ self-assurance. They noted that the initiative represents a successful blend of corporate social responsibility and effective local execution, highlighting that these women have evolved from traditional artisans into empowered leaders of their own lives.
