Ananya Birla Visits Flood-Hit Assam, Distributes Relief Materials in Jorhat
Guwahati, July 31: As Assam continues to face the impact of severe floods, entrepreneur and philanthropist Ananya Birla visited the state to oversee relief efforts and extend support to affected communities.
Relief Work in Jorhat
Accompanied by her team, Birla visited flood-affected areas in Jorhat, where she met displaced families living amid waterlogged conditions and distributed relief kits to those in need.
The visit is part of a humanitarian initiative by the Ananya Birla Foundation aimed at supporting communities affected by the ongoing flood situation in Assam.
Relief Materials Distributed
The relief kits include essential items such as:
- Dry ration: Rice, lentils and cooking oil
- Hygiene supplies: Soap, toothpaste and sanitary pads
- Other essentials: Mosquito nets, tarpaulins and educational materials for children
Birla said she and her team visited Assam to deliver donations collected through a nationwide relief campaign and to understand the challenges faced by flood-affected people on the ground.
She also thanked donors and supporters who contributed towards the relief initiative.
Donation Drive Across Cities
To raise support for flood-affected communities, the Ananya Birla Foundation conducted a multi-city donation drive from July 28 to August 2, with collection centres set up in Mumbai, Bengaluru and Kolkata.
During her visit, Birla also interacted with relief workers, volunteers and local residents to understand their immediate requirements and ensure that assistance reaches those who need it most.
