Around 42 Kg of Suspected Ganja Seized in Boko; One Arrested

PALASBARI, May 27: In a major anti-narcotics operation, police seized around 42 kilograms of suspected ganja from a residence in Batakuchi village under Boko Police Station in Kamrup (Rural) district and arrested one person in connection with the case.

Acting on specific source information, a police team led by Jankishore Gogoi, APS, Co-District Superintendent of Police, Boko–Chhaygaon, along with ASI Atul Deka, Officer-in-Charge of Hahim Outpost, and SI(P) Bijoy Nath of Boko Police Station, conducted a search operation at the village.

During the raid, police recovered six plastic bags containing suspected ganja from the house of the accused, identified as Bhumidhar Rabha (69), son of late Kandu Ch. Rabha, a resident of Batakuchi village.

The total quantity of the seized contraband was found to be 41.605 kilograms, including the weight of the plastic bags.

Police said the suspected narcotic substance was seized following all legal procedures in the presence of independent witnesses. The accused was subsequently apprehended and taken to Boko Police Station for further legal action.
