Assam Floods | Actress Seema Donates Rs 5 Lakh

Indian film and theatre actress Seema Biswas on Saturday has contributed Rs 5 Lakh to Assam CM Relief fund as the state grapples with floods.

Seema Biswas is an Indian film and theatre actress from Nalbari, Assam. She shot into prominence with the role of Phoolan Devi in Shekhar Kapur’s film Bandit Queen, for which she won the National Film Award for Best Actress. She has a reputation for performing strong character roles.

According to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority, 37 people have lost their lives in floods and two in landslide. As on July 18, 4,128 villages in 103 revenue circles of 28 districts have been affected due to floods.

Approximately 53,52,107 people have been affected due to the calamity, the authority said.
